Summary of Key Terms

While you should read these Terms in full, here are the essential points you need to know:

Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use Wetin. You confirm this when you sign up, and we may ask for reasonable proof of age if we have reason to doubt it.

Content Ownership and Licensing: You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant KOBI PY LTD a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and distribute your content across our Services and to third parties.

Prohibited Content: We strictly prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate images, illegal content, terrorism/violent extremism, harassment campaigns, doxxing (including phone numbers and street addresses in public posts), and vote manipulation. Violations will result in immediate account termination or ban.

Your Responsibilities: You are solely responsible for your content and conduct on Wetin. You must comply with these Terms, all applicable laws, and our Community Guidelines.

Platform Control: Wetin administrators may curate, pin, feature, or remove content, and may take actions that affect content visibility and user experience.

Reporting Violations: You can report violations through the platform's reporting feature or by emailing support@wetin.app.

Termination and Bans: We may terminate or permanently ban your account for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time.

Special Provisions for EU/UK/Switzerland Users: If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, additional terms and stronger consumer protections apply to you as described in Section 15 below.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines by reference. Please review all associated policies carefully.

1. Eligibility and Account Requirements

1.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to access or use the Services. By using Wetin, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. We do not permit anyone under 18 to use the Services.

1.2 Age Verification

When you sign up you confirm that you are 18 or older. Wetin does not currently collect a Bank Verification Number (BVN) or an identity document. If we have reason to believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we may ask for reasonable proof of age.

Failure to provide satisfactory proof of age when requested will result in immediate account suspension or termination. Any information provided for age verification will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

1.3 Capacity to Contract

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years old
• You can form a binding contract with KOBI PY LTD
• You are not barred from using the Services under all applicable laws
• You have not been permanently suspended, terminated, or banned from the Services

If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company, organization, government entity, or other legal entity, you represent that you have full legal authority to bind such entity to these Terms.

1.4 Account Creation and Security

You can read Wetin and vote in polls without an account. To post, reply, upvote, join a link up, shoot your shot or chat, you must create an account. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email, choose a username and choose your area. Wetin does not use passwords. Your username and area are shown publicly on what you post. A username can be a pseudonym, but it is not a guarantee of anonymity: what you write can identify you. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete
• Keep the email or Google account you sign in with secure, because anyone who controls it can sign in to Wetin as you
• Immediately notify KOBI PY LTD if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Not share sign-in codes or access to your account with any third party
• Not create multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
• Not license, sell, transfer, or assign your account without KOBI PY LTD's prior written approval

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. KOBI PY LTD cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security or from unauthorized use of your account.

2. Privacy and Data Collection

Our Privacy Policy, available at /privacy, explains how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you access or use our Services. By using Wetin, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy, including the transfer of this information to Nigeria and other countries for storage, processing, and use by KOBI PY LTD and our affiliates and service providers.

KOBI PY LTD complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, additional data protection rights apply as described in Section 15 below.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

3.1 Strictly Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on Wetin and will result in immediate account termination or permanent ban, reporting to law enforcement where applicable, and removal of all associated content:

• Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or otherwise harms minors, including but not limited to images, videos, text, links, or any other materials depicting or promoting child sexual abuse or exploitation.
• Non-Consensual Intimate Images: Sharing intimate or sexually explicit images or videos of individuals without their consent, including "revenge porn" or other non-consensual pornography.
• Illegal Content: Content that violates Nigerian law or international law, including but not limited to content promoting illegal drug sales, human trafficking, counterfeit goods, fraud, or other criminal activity.
• Terrorism and Violent Extremism: Content that promotes, supports, or glorifies terrorist organizations, violent extremism, mass violence, or that recruits for such organizations.
• Harassment Campaigns: Coordinated harassment, brigading, or targeted abuse campaigns against individuals or groups.
• Doxxing: Sharing private or personal information about individuals without their consent, including but not limited to home addresses, phone numbers, financial information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal data.

3.2 Other Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the strictly prohibited content above, the following conduct is also prohibited:

• Vote Manipulation: Using multiple accounts, bots, scripts, or coordinating with others to artificially inflate or deflate votes, or engagement metrics. This includes vote brigading, vote trading, and any other form of inauthentic voting activity.
• Impersonation of individuals, organizations, or brands
• Spam, including repetitive posts, reply cards, or unsolicited commercial messages
• Misinformation or disinformation intended to deceive or manipulate
• Copyright or trademark infringement
• Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
• Graphic violence or gore shared for shock value

3.3 Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or conduct that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, you can report it through:

• The Report option in the menu on every post, reply card and chat
• Email to support@wetin.app

We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include content removal, user warnings, account suspension, or permanent ban. For CSAM and other illegal content, we will report to appropriate law enforcement authorities, including the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Nigerian law enforcement.

False or malicious reports may result in action against the reporting account.

4. Your Content

4.1 Content Responsibility

The Services may contain information, text, links, poll options, and other materials ("Content"), including Content created with or submitted to the Services by you or through your account ("Your Content"). You are solely responsible for Your Content, including compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. You should only provide Content that you are comfortable sharing with others and for which you have all necessary rights.

Any use or reliance on any Content or materials posted via the Services or obtained by you through the Services is at your own risk. KOBI PY LTD does not endorse, support, represent, or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any Content posted via the Services. We take no responsibility for and do not expressly or implicitly endorse any Content. You understand that by using the Services, you may be exposed to Content that is offensive, harmful, inaccurate, inappropriate, or in some cases, mislabeled or otherwise deceptive. All Content is the sole responsibility of the person or entity that originated such Content.

4.2 Rights You Grant to KOBI PY LTD

You retain ownership of Your Content. However, by submitting, posting, or displaying Content on or through the Services, you grant KOBI PY LTD a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, upload, download, distribute, store, perform, and create derivative works from Your Content in any and all media or distribution methods now known or later developed anywhere in the world, for any purpose.

This license specifically includes the right to:

• Make Your Content available to other users of the Services and to the general public
• Analyze and use Your Content to improve the Services
• Curate, organize, and feature Your Content in feeds, the Question of the Day, the Gist of the Day, topics, and Hot and New rankings
• Make Content available to third parties for syndication or distribution
• Remove metadata associated with Your Content

You irrevocably waive any claims and assertions of moral rights or attribution with respect to Your Content. No compensation will be paid to you for the use of Your Content, as your use of the Services is hereby agreed to be sufficient compensation.

4.3 Content Moderation and Removal

KOBI PY LTD reserves the right to remove, hide, limit visibility, or refuse to distribute any Content at any time and for any reason, including for violating these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable laws, or if we believe the Content creates or is likely to create liability for KOBI PY LTD. We may not monitor or control all Content posted via the Services.

5. Using the Services

5.1 Platform Features

Wetin is a local feed, organised by area. Members post three kinds of card: an Ask (a question, with an optional poll), a Gist (something happening around you) and a Link up (a plan with a public place, a time and a number of spots). A reply is itself a card that builds on another post. The feed can be filtered by area and by type, and ordered Hot or New.

Members can tap "I'm in" on a link up and can "Shoot your shot" at the author of a Link up or Gist. A shot is not shown to the other person. If two members have each shot at the other, Wetin creates a match and opens a private text chat between them. Either person can block or report the other at any time.

Wetin has no wallets, transfers between members or cash prizes. Optional paid extras are described below.

KOBI PY LTD may add, remove, or modify features at any time without notice. Features are provided as-is and may be discontinued at our sole discretion.

5.2 Voting and Engagement

Members can upvote posts, and anyone, including visitors without an account, can vote once in a poll. Wetin has no downvotes. Upvotes, replies and poll votes help decide what the Hot ranking shows. You agree that:

• Votes do not constitute endorsement by KOBI PY LTD
• Vote scores do not create any ownership rights or privileges
• KOBI PY LTD may adjust vote counts, scores, or visibility algorithms at any time
• Vote manipulation, brigading, and coordinated voting are strictly prohibited
• Using multiple accounts or automated tools to manipulate votes will result in permanent ban

5.3 Administrative Actions

Wetin administrators and automated systems may take various actions to curate and manage the platform, including:

• Pinning posts to increase visibility
• Choosing the Question of the Day and the Gist of the Day, and creating and managing topics
• Curating posts rankings
• Removing, hiding, or limiting visibility of content
• Implementing content filters or labels
• Adjusting algorithmic ranking and sorting
• Taking enforcement actions against accounts that violate Terms

You acknowledge and agree that KOBI PY LTD has editorial control over the Services and may exercise this control in ways that affect how your content is displayed, discovered, or accessed by others.

5.4 Prohibited Technical Activities

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl, or access the Services through automated means without express written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services
• Interfere with, disable, or disrupt the Services or servers
• Circumvent security measures or authentication systems
• Use the Services to distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code

We encourage responsible security research. To report security vulnerabilities, please email support@wetin.app.

6. Contests, Giveaways, and Promotions

If you choose to conduct a contest, giveaway, sweepstakes, or other promotion ("Promotion") on Wetin, you are solely responsible for conducting the Promotion in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree that:

• You are solely responsible for all aspects of the Promotion, including creating official rules, eligibility requirements, terms and conditions, and compliance with all applicable laws
• The Promotion must state that it is not sponsored by, endorsed by, administered by, or associated with KOBI PY LTD or Wetin
• The Promotion rules must require each participant to release KOBI PY LTD and Wetin from any liability related to the Promotion
• You will comply with all applicable laws, including those governing sweepstakes, contests, lotteries, advertising, and consumer protection
• You will obtain all necessary licenses, registrations, bonds, and regulatory approvals required for your Promotion
• KOBI PY LTD will not assist you in any way with your Promotion and you conduct your Promotion entirely at your own risk

KOBI PY LTD reserves the right to remove any Promotion that violates these Terms or applicable laws. You acknowledge and agree to indemnify and hold harmless KOBI PY LTD from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your Promotion.

Example disclaimer for your Promotion: "This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with KOBI PY LTD or Wetin. By entering, you release KOBI PY LTD and Wetin from any liability related to this promotion."

7. Community Moderation

Wetin is moderated after posting. Posts are checked by an automated review, which may hide a post until a person looks at it, and by reports from the community: a post reported by several different people is hidden until it is reviewed. Decisions to remove content or to suspend or ban an account are made by people acting for KOBI PY LTD.

Before a post is saved, Wetin blocks phone numbers and street addresses in public text. This is a safety measure and does not make you less responsible for what you post.

Wetin does not currently have volunteer community moderators. If that changes, moderators will be required to follow a published code of conduct, and KOBI PY LTD will be able to overturn any moderator action.

7A. Link Ups, Shots and Meeting People

Wetin helps people make plans and meet. It does not screen its members, does not run background checks and is not a party to any meeting between members. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people, online and in person. You agree to:

• Arrange link ups in public places, and not post a home or other private address
• Not share phone numbers or other contact details in public posts
• Respect a "no", a block, or silence, and not pursue someone who has not matched with you
• Not use shots, matches or chat to harass, solicit, advertise or run scams

KOBI PY LTD is not responsible for the conduct of any member at or after a link up or in a chat.

Seeing who shot their shot, and priority shots

This section applies only where Wetin offers these paid extras.

• Extras are one-off purchases. Nothing renews. Wetin holds no balance for you, there is no wallet, and money cannot be sent between members. Prices include VAT.
• **Payments made through others.** Payments for Extras are handled by an independent payment provider, not by Wetin. Wetin does not hold your card, bank or wallet details and is not responsible for the services, fees, errors, delays or security of any payment provider, bank, mobile money service or digital wallet you choose to use, including their terms and privacy policies. If a payment goes wrong, contact that provider first; we will help where we can, for example by confirming whether a purchase reached us. Wetin is not responsible for any payment, transfer or arrangement members make with each other outside Wetin.
• Paying to see who shot at you shows you the sender of one shot, three shots or every shot waiting at the time you pay, as described when you buy. It is available only for shots sent after senders were told that a recipient could pay to see who sent them. Matching by shooting your shot back is always free.
• Wetin Spotlight shows one of your posts higher in one area's feed for the time you choose (30 minutes or 1 hour), labelled Spotlighted. It does not guarantee views or replies, never places a post above the hottest posts, and ends when the time runs out. A boosted post must still follow the Community Guidelines and can be removed without a refund if it breaks them.
• A priority shot is not anonymous: the person you send it to sees your username straight away. You choose which shot to use it on.
• You must not use what you learn to harass, threaten, expose or pressure anyone. Doing so can get your account suspended, without a refund.

8. Copyright and Intellectual Property

KOBI PY LTD respects intellectual property rights. We have a policy that includes removal of infringing material and termination of repeat infringers.

9. Termination and Bans

9.1 Termination by You

You may terminate these Terms at any time by asking us to delete your account at support@wetin.app from the email address you sign in with. If you stop using the Services without deleting your account, your account may be deactivated due to prolonged inactivity.

9.2 Termination and Bans by KOBI PY LTD

KOBI PY LTD may suspend, terminate, or permanently ban your account at any time if we reasonably believe:

• You have violated these Terms or our Community Guidelines
• You create risk or possible legal exposure for KOBI PY LTD
• Your account should be removed due to unlawful conduct
• You are under 18 years old or fail to verify your age when requested
• You have created multiple accounts to evade restrictions
• Our provision of the Services to you is no longer commercially viable

A "ban" or "permanent ban" is a form of account termination that permanently revokes your access to the Services. Banned users may not create new accounts. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of termination or ban via email.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 Services Provided "AS IS"

YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE SERVICES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, KOBI PY LTD AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS (COLLECTIVELY, THE "KOBI PY ENTITIES") DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE KOBI PY ENTITIES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE KOBI PY ENTITIES EXCEED THE GREATER OF 100,000 NAIRA (or equivalent in your local currency) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID KOBI PY LTD IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS.

10.3 Liquidated Damages

If you violate these Terms through scraping, vote manipulation, or other automated abuse, you agree to pay liquidated damages of $15,000 USD per 100,000 posts accessed in any 24-hour period. This is a reasonable estimate of our damages and does not limit our other legal remedies.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the KOBI PY Entities from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) Your Content; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lagos, Nigeria. You must bring any claim within one (1) year of the event giving rise to the dispute. For informal resolution, contact support@wetin.app.

13. General Provisions

KOBI PY LTD may revise these Terms at any time. The current version will always be at /terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or service notification. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and KOBI PY LTD.

14. Account Deletion

When your account is deleted, your posts, reply cards, votes, shots, matches and chat messages are deleted with it. Your profile information and personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

15. Additional Provisions for EEA, UK, and Switzerland Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under GDPR and applicable consumer protection laws:

• Right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data
• Right to object to processing and lodge complaints with supervisory authorities

For material changes, we will revise the 'Last Updated' date or Effective Date' and may notify you by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

Liability limitations apply only to the maximum extent permissible under your local law

Consumer rights under mandatory consumer protection laws remain unaffected
