Community Guidelines

Be respectful and civil

Treat everyone with respect. No harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, or bullying. Disagree with ideas, not people. We are all neighbours.

Example: Instead of "You're stupid for thinking that," say "I disagree because..." or "I see it differently..."

No illegal content

Do not post anything illegal or that promotes illegal activity. This includes:

• Selling or promoting illegal goods or services
• Sharing pirated content or encouraging piracy
• Doxxing (sharing private information without consent)
• Scams, fraud, or financial schemes
• Content that violates local laws

Violations will result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to authorities.

Keep private details private

Do not put phone numbers, street addresses or other contact details in a public post, yours or anyone else's. Wetin blocks phone numbers and street addresses before a post is saved. Name a public venue or an area instead.

Watch your language

Excessive profanity, vulgar language, or sexually explicit content is not allowed. Keep the conversation respectful, inclusive, and free of content that could make others uncomfortable or unsafe.

No spam or self-promotion

Don't post repetitive content, excessive self-promotion, or unsolicited advertising. Genuine recommendations and helpful business suggestions are welcome; blatant ads and spam are not.

Vote and upvote honestly

Upvote posts that add to the conversation. Vote in polls once, as yourself. Wetin has no downvotes: if something breaks these guidelines, report it.

Don't use more than one account, ask others to pile on, or trade votes to push a post or a poll result up or down.

Stay on topic

Keep posts relevant to the area you post in. Use the right kind of post (Gist, Ask or Link up) and the right topic.

Link up safely

• Meet in public places, and tell someone you trust where you are going.
• Don't post a home address. Arrange the details once you have matched and are chatting.
• "Shoot your shot" is private, and a match only happens when both people choose each other. If someone does not match with you, leave it there.
• Respect a "no", a block, or silence.
• No soliciting, paid companionship, or pressure of any kind.

Politics

Argue the point, not the person or their tribe, religion or origin. Don't post claims about elections, candidates or public safety that you know are false, and say where your information comes from. No calls for violence, and no targeting of people for how they vote.

Confessions

A confession is posted under your username like any other post. A username can be a pseudonym, but Wetin does not promise anonymity, and what you write may identify you. Confess your own story: do not name, describe or expose another person, and do not use a confession to accuse someone of a crime.

Report, don't retaliate

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it from the menu on the post or chat. Don't argue, harass the person, or retaliate. Reports are private.
