What is the strangest thing you have watched someone pour on jollof and then defend?

Mine is a colleague. Strawberry yoghurt, one full spoon, says it cools the pepper. Last week he said it was his late grandmother's recipe, with a perfectly straight face. That is four times I have watched this. Recipe, or cry for help? Tell me yours, don't be shy.
