My date left the party with my aunt

A man I'd been seeing for four months took me to a private party in VI where everybody surrendered their phones at the door. Around 1am I found him kissing my married aunt beside the downstairs bathroom. She paid part of my university fees. They saw me. Nobody spoke. He left with her. Next morning they separately texted to ask if I got home safely. My aunt added: "Please don't misunderstand what you saw." I would love to misunderstand it. Unfortunately, my eyesight is excellent.
